"The 2009 Civil Liberties Symposium will be held on the College of Southern Idaho campus June 25 and 26. This will be the fourth summer symposium that occurs in conjunction with the annual pilgrimage to Minidoka. The conference is sponsored by Friends of Minidoka, the National Park Service, and the College of Southern Idaho. The meeting will be held in the Rick Allen room at the Herrett Center on the CSI campus.
This year the conference will focus on “Color and the Constitution.” Speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds will address issues related to civil liberties and minorities with an emphasis on the Japanese, Hispanic, Black, and Native American experience. There is a $60 registration fee that includes breakfast and lunch during the two day event. Students can register for credit as well.
